Overview
An integration to synchronize audience data gathered on an ePublishing client site creates the opportunity for single log-in to access premium content, subscribe to newsletters, create a profile, modify subscriptions to non-newsletter publications, and make other purchases.
A typical integration description appears below – including all the associated real-time and batch processes. These processes include both Fulfillment provider and an Email Service Provider.

ePublishing and your fulfillment provider will work together to map the appropriate fields between the two services to keep reader / subscriber records maintained in as close to real time as possible.

Subscription Expiration Data
This information is sent to ePublishing from the fulfillment provider updates. When the expiration date occurs, the reader will no longer be able to view premium content on the site. The publisher is responsible for contacting the user to renew.
Free Trials for Registered Readers
New visitors who register on the site will have temporary access to all Premium Content for a period of time specified by the publisher.

Newsletter Subscriptions
Free newsletters do not have an end subscription date.
Fulfillment & ePublishing Reader Authentication & Updates
A reader’s email address, password and fulfillment provider's customer ID will be used for identifying individual readers for the processes indicated in this section. A combination of profile pages (provided by ePublishing) and subscription processing pages (provided by the fulfillment provider) will be used for the different processes a visitor / subscriber might undertake.
Note: Any fulfillment provider hosted pages will be displayed within the main site using an iFrame.

Media Manager: upload, resize, create border/padding for images and video in WYSIWYG interface or using separate links to Media Tools

Post/Pull date: Select Time and Date to post article on website. Pull date will remove article from site, but it will remain in content database.

Related: Override function to associate article with other articles, blog posts, classifieds, directory listings, products, events by selecting Generate Related Content and selecting from database results.
Product: Assign ID and Price to sell article as a pay per view product
SEO: Built in optimization tool automatically creates editable search engine friendly url and page header, meta keywords, and meta data
Social Networking: Automated feed to one or more Twitter accounts generates 140-character headline and shortened url
Comments: Manage comments for each article: tool presents comments for review, editing, deletion or mark as offensive
Media: Access Media Manager to upload/insert images, video, files
History: Retains each version of article, review previous versions, revert to previous version.
Pagination
Create page breaks in articles and other content to increase pageviews and facilitate printing. Adminsitrative users can set breaks manually; default setting is for present complete article on one page.
Blog Tool
Create one or more blogs: assign title, author(s), taxonomy, image(s), review and manage comments, create and manage navigation links (blogroll).
Blog Post Tool
Create and Manage posts for each blog using tools similar in appearance and function to Article tool.
Create, update and manage blogs in the EPS to deliver the content to one or more blog posts. Includes categories, blog roll and related topics. Readers can post comments directly or following editorial review. Posts can appear in search results and in related content on article pages.

Taxonomy System Automated, Dynamically Related Content
The taxonomy tool supports four functions:
Articles, events, special reports, products, and other content can be placed on one or more pages or sections of the site as related content using automated taxonomy tools.
Content can be related by topic, author, type, and other criteria, without cutting and pasting.
Related Articles, Related Resources - products, events, blogs
Present resources - Articles, Blog Posts, Events Buyers Guide listings and Products - related to each article based on taxonomy tagging. Automatically generated lists of links to related resources can increase page views, time-on-site, and brand/site loyalty.
Topic Pages
Present content related by topic, author, or type automatically on a dynamically-generated page, without cutting and pasting, based on taxonomy terms selected by an editor or administrative user.
Links placed at Article or Blog Post header or in a Product Page allow readers to view all articles on a specific topic, company, author, and view products by type, media and topic.
RSS
Create and manage RSS feeds by tagging articles using the taxonomy tool to associate articles and posts with specific feeds. An RSS icon is placed automatically on Topic Pages.
Community Features
Community features can enhance brand loyalty and increase sales, page views and time on site. Select from one or more of the following:
Social Media Integrations
Post Article or Blog Post headline and shortened URL to one or more Twitter accounts from Article or Blog tools.
Place Facebook and one or more Twitter account feeds on homepage and/or interior pages.
Social Media Sharing
Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Google+ and other social media: Article headline, teaser (summary) and link back to site will automatically be placed in registered readers' social media and bookmarking sites.
eMail-a-friend & print this article
Social Media Sharing links include printer friendly pages and emailing options.
Tag or select articles, including images, video, ads, and embedded links for multiple content types - articles, events, products, blog posts - and to place in selected eMail template(s).
Create, test and send newsletters, Alerts and marketing emails from EPS newsletter tools.
ePublishing will provide Responsive design for each eMail template.
Templates may be repurposed for additional titles using identical layout; new format or layout requires an additional template.
Link to eMail Service Provider account from EPS dashboard to create reports, and manage lists. Integration includes list synchronization; as readers register on site, reader account information is synchronized with eMail lists.
Search, Advanced Search
Search all site content and archives based on date, author, taxonomy and keywords. Present headline and summary, and include targeted ads, cross-sells, and other content on the results page.
Search results can be sorted by relevance, date, or product/content type.
Search Results Page is organized by tabbed content categories for Articles, Pages, Blogs, Products, Directory Listings/Buyers Guide Listings and Events.
Browse By Topic
Navigation links allow readers to browse articles and other content based on topic or content type. Administrative users can create and manage site navigation links.
Page Manager
Create new landing pages, product and marketing pages using WYSIWYG tools requiring no programming knowledge required. Alternatively, admin users may work in HTML.
Select from existing page templates and use taxonomy to select layout - No Sidebars or Blank Page - or designate as secure to require registration.
Events
Create and manage events including a detailed description, images, video and links.
Calendar page presents a listing of events by multiple date ranges: day, week, month, 3 months, 6 months and archived events.
Event Tool functionality includes:
Buyers Guide/Directory System
Create and modify listings including company name, profile, links, products, downloads, video, awards, and logo/image. Sell tiered listings, with sponsors paying via Shopping Cart for Free, Premium, Directory Sponsor level listings.
Companies/Sponsors can upload and manage the following features via a self-service form. Listings content can be updated with the Buyers Guide admin tools:
Classifieds
Create and manage classifieds for use as a Job Board or for Product/Service offers.
Create listings by topic, type and company. Classifieds are integrated with eCommerce to allow users to pay for, create and manage listings.
Gated Content/ Metered Paywall
Tag content using the taxonomy system as free or requiring registration or payment. Search results can present free and restricted content. Links to restricted content can prompt unregistered users or non-subscribers to register and/or pay.

Manage administrative user roles and privileges to control tools access for editorial and marketing staff and external contributors.

Site visitors can create and manage an account through forms accessible via My Account link displayed on each page.
Overlay demographic information and purchase history with individual behavioral data on site – articles viewed, downloads, frequency of visits – to segment audience and target editorial and marketing tactics. Create and export reports, segment groups, export data, groups.

Create links to content sample pages, subscription page, and registration forms to gather and manage registrant information.
eCommerce
Catalogue: Create a product catalogue of physical and digital items; sell books chapters, pages, reports, premium content, subscriptions, downloads, webinars, and conferences in a user-friendly shopping cart. Process payments securely via authorize.net.
Create purchase and subscription options, including pay-per-view articles, monthly subscriptions or site access.
Offers: Create and test special offers and discount codes applied to one or more products, shopping cart or a specific date range.

Customers can browse by Topic, Media, or Category. Products related by taxonomy can be presented on Article pages.
Shopping Cart: All transactions will be handled on a secure page on the site; users are not directed to a new site to allow for Analytics tracking, up-sells and other related promotions. Check out process is streamlined and intuitive.
Contextually Related Content & Products: Using ePublishing’s taxonomy tool, products can be tagged to present content and related products, reports, events, books, web conferences, video, and other paid or free content. Sites associating product and content typically see dramatic sales growth, compared to simply providing a separate product catalogue or marketplace.
Products will be managed within the ePublishing EPS – books, DVDs, PDF downloads, free newsletter subscriptions, and other products included in the site catalogue will be handled through a shopping cart implemented for the site. Credit card transactions will be handled via authorize.net.
Site License & Library IP Access
As an optional service not included with our standard implementation, ePublishing will provide a tool that allows you to set up new libraries/site licenses within the system – including login information for readers and the librarian/manager. The ePublishing system site will then automatically allow access to all content for users in that IP address range.
Advertising Management
Using a 3rd party ad server of your choice, manage advertisements and campaigns, place and rotate ads in zones on the site and in mobile/tablet versions of the site; place ads in emails, create and download reports.
As part of our implementation service, ePublishing will tag your site for your Ad Servers – 24/7 Real Media, OpenX, Adstream and many more to place targeted ads related to content on the site.
Site SEO
Site design includes the creation of pages to support SEO tactics, including making all site content, including pdf files, available to search engine spiders, PPC and email marketing landing pages.
Design elements including breadcrumbs, topic pages and other internal links improve content visibility to Search Engines.
The ePublishing EPS automates keyword analysis and associations for each article, and ensures that each article and other content includes Search Engine-friendly url, browser title, meta description and meta keywords – ensuring all updates are Search Engine friendly.
Google Sitemap
As new pages are developed or existing pages revised, the site map protocol is created or changed nightly. ePublishing also develops the supporting robots.txt file. The robots text directs Google, Yahoo!, Bing, MSN, and ASK.com as to the location of the sitemap protocol so you do not need to submit after every update. Simply working in the system is all that is required to make the Search Engines aware of your content.
Report Center
Track site data to further enhance content and UI. Report lists can be generated and posted to the site:
Web Analytics
Track user behavior on the site using Google Analytics or other Analytics package. Site redesign will include base tagging of all site pages for site Analytics.
