Along with recent Twitter integrations to improve audience engagement and sharing, several new updates maximize control over how ePublishing clients’ content is found and managed.
Maximize SEO: Traffic-Building with Metadata
Metadata still matters to search engines. Unique metadata for business-critical landing pages is particularly important. But you don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about it, you just want it to do the job and help keep you ahead of the curve, so your traffic continues to build.
The updated Metadata Tool gives you better control over your site’s metadata. You access it through the Editorial menu. It’s easy to find and use, and we’ve made it even easier by pre-seeding important common landing pages and home pages for our clients.

Multi-Topic Landing Pages
Topic pages are useful as sponsored pages or to increase time on site by helping readers find related articles. Now you can present pages that aggregate articles for two related topics – an enhancement that delivers a complete resource to readers, encourages readers to explore more pages and content, and provides more value for advertisers.
Using ePublishing’s Taxonomy Manager, editors and marketers can combine terms by designating links that appear on article pages to lead to topic pages, listing all articles related to the specified topics.
This enhancement uses the equivalent of an “AND” connection between the topic terms and happens automatically, without creating new pages or templates.
Check out Microwave Journal for an example of how it presents related content on multiple topics.
Manage Notifications and Related Content with Buyers’ Guide Enhancements
Two features adding value for your advertisers are now part of ePublishing’s Buyers’ Guide:
1) Expiration Notices: Renew listings more effectively by automatically notifying advertisers when their listing is about to expire. Your customers receive notifications that help them track, renew or update their listing so you can focus more time on expanding your listings.
2) Related content within listings: We’ve added Premium Buyers’ Guide Listings that now include taxonomy-specific tabs, which give owners more control over their listing. A search bar appears at the top of the listing, so visitors can find relevant products. Your buyers’ guide taxonomy automates the content association to present related articles, news, whitepapers, media, products and events.
Processing Magazine shows you how it is working.
Additional SaaS Updates:
Search Engine Access to Gated Content
You can now control how search engines handle your locked content:
- Prevent search engines from indexing locked content; or
- Allow them to index, while keeping your pay gate in place.
Spam Filter for Polls
Any spam submitted as a poll response is now prevented – automatically.
Newsletter List Management
Newsletter management just got easier by adding the reader’s email address directly from the sign-up form to your eMail Service Provider’s newsletter list, even if the reader is not registered on the site.
